Welcome to the Yakezie Natsu San (Summer Three) edition weekly review.

I’m enjoying an awesome summer vacation with my three children. Last week we went to the Gator Pool. It’s a scaled-down water park, with 5 major slides, and massive swim area, and tons of play areas for kids. It has something for us all. The best part, it’s only $5 each. Virginia Beach caters well to families on a budget.

Contrast this with the $35 Water Park entry fee that Jon, over at Free Money Wisdom was considering in San Diego. It’s probably an awesome, full-scale park, but it would still cost our family $175 to walk in the front gate. How much would you pay?

This review is a shout-out to our Yakezie Network friends in Summer Group 3. We invite you to come and hang with us in Summer Group 1, and our friends in Summer Group 2, when you’re not at the water park.

    Thanks much Hunter!

$5 beats $175 any day!! Glad you had a good time! :)

  2. Great round up once again. Thanks for including me! I don’t have kids yet so I can get by for now with less than 100 for a waterpark. Hopefully once I do have kids I won’t be as cheap as I am now! lol

  3. I am envious of your $5 water park!!

Thanks for all of the links from group 3. I’ll have to venture over that way.

  4. Thanks for the mention. Families are expensive. $100 to go to the movies is CRAZY. No movie is that god.

    • Hunter says:

They seem to charge extra for the 3D animated movies that my kids really go for. I guess we make up for the expensive movies at the cheapo water park.

  5. Jackie says:

Thanks for the group 3 links! And that’s an awesome deal on the waterpark. I’m trying to remember how much my son paid to go to the waterpark here recently, and I think it was a least $20 for a limited amount of time at night.

    • Hunter says:

They charge a fortune at some places. Really, a dip for an hour at the most is all my kids need. When they charge high entry prices it makes you feel like you need to stay there all day to get any value.

  6. So next week, is it group 4′s turn?

  7. At $35 a head, it would cost us $280. Ouch. We are going to King’s Island tomorrow for $208. Gonna pack a lunch and only get food in the park for one meal at most unless we decide to wait til after we leave.

Anyway, thanks for the mention. I appreciate it. Keep enjoying your summer.

    • Hunter says:

The major theme parks do cost, but every once in a while it can be a nice treat to splurge on. No doubt it will be a memorable family experience.

  8. Wow, $5 per head is pretty good and provides you great savings compared to those major theme parks.

    BTW, thanks for the mention.

  9. Thanks for including my post comparing Petco vs. Petsmart.

  10. $5 for all of that fun. That’s awesome!!

Thanks for the mention this week. Much appreciated.

  11. Great idea on the summer shout outs! Enjoy that vaycay!

  12. Andrea says:

Thanks for the linklove, I love that you’ve colourcoded the groups :)

  13. Thanks for including me – and great idea! I will return the love to the other summer groups.

  14. Thanks so much for including me!
